One of the best parts of the holiday season is decorating with lights and tinsel.
This time of year, everything is spruced up and looking fabulous, bringing cheer and joy to everyone. That’s why it makes sense that the animal kingdom might want to get in on the action, too. One beaver who showed up at this Dollar General in Charlotte Hall, Maryland, had the good sense to go straight to the Christmas aisle for all her decorating needs.
This is what she had to work with. Her family’s dam gets the job done, but it’s not much to look at. Not to worry! A quick trip to the store would fix all that.
Like any self-respecting beaver, she first checked out the tree options, probably disturbed that these logs wouldn’t help patch that hole in her dam.
The adorable nugget had her sights set on Santa, which would look great in the corner near the fireplace.
She managed to make a bit of a mess looking for placemats for her family dinner, but holiday perfection never comes easy.
After her brief shopping spree, the beaver was apprehended by Cpl. Yingling of the St. Mary’s Sheriff Department and given to a wildlife rehabilitation center.

You can’t blame her for getting into the Christmas spirit! I have high hopes that the inside of that dam is all decked out now.
